Tijuana Flats is known for its “Flat Outrageous” brand and “anything goes” approach to food, hot sauce, art, and life in general. Tijuana Flats is a unique, fast-casual Tex-Mex dining experience featuring superior guest service and fresh, made-to-order food and a hot sauce bar with 12-15 different hot sauces in each restaurant. Please tell us about Tijuana Flats Tex-Mex. Since then, Tijuana Flats has grown to more than 130 restaurants in six states. Shortly after, Brian’s dad, Chester Wheeler, left a 30-year career at a Fortune 500 company to become CFO of Tijuana Flats. In 1999, Brian’s success caught the eye of former restaurant industry hotshot Camp Fitch, who left retirement to become partner & chairman of Tijuana Flats. Following the opening of the first Tijuana Flats, Brian created his own line of hot sauces shortly thereafter-the “Smack My Ass & Call Me Sally” brand, which includes some of the hottest sauces in the world and remains Tijuana Flats’ signature sauce line today. In 1995, college student Brian Wheeler established the first Tijuana Flats in Winter Park, Florida. Monique, please share your story with us. Today we’d like to introduce you to Tijuana Flats.
